GHD at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week

GHD at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week
ghd celebrated the premier Australian fashion events milestone fifteen years by partnering with an amazing 16 designer collections from 30 April to 5 May 2010.

ghd session stylists Renya Xydis, Sophie Roberts, Jayne Wild and Alan White created hair to match the catwalk collections for ghd’s 2010 fashion partners.

“We are absolutely bowled over by the incredible brands we partnered with at RAFW. It speaks volumes about the ghd brand, the appeal of our incredible stylist partners and the quality of our supporting teams.” said ghd Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Anthony Grigson in the lead up to the event.

ghd Hair Director Sophie Roberts kicked off day one with Marnie Skillings collection presented in the picturesque Botanic Gardens. “Marnie Skilling’s hair this season was inspired by the Teddy Girls hair of the 1950’s. Part Edwardian, and part quiffed, this look is a modern girl’s take on a vintage style” said Sophie.

Sophie’s collaborations also included the vibrant The Birthday Suit, Ginger & Smart, Ellery, Zimmerman, Anna & Boy and the acclaimed ‘new guard’ of Australian fashion Dion Lee.

Renya Xydis partnered with iconic Collette Dinnigan on her return from the runways of Paris, Little Joe Woman, Australia’s king of glamour Alex Perry and long time friend Kirrily Johnston for an absolute stand out show inspired by an organic, primitive style for the Brave New World show.

ghd Hair Director Alan White’s collaboration across three shows over the week culminated with Lucette’s ‘futuristic rockabilly’ sporting wet look quiffs, following the stunning ‘Andalusian Senioritas’ at Manning Cartell and innovative wet/dry textures at Fernando Frisoni.

ghd Ambassador Jayne Wild’s styling for Nookie took 70’s inspired party chic to ‘this moment’ with sexy beachy waves and plenty of texture. “She is the girl who everyone wants to be and know, she’s back stage all the time, very much the ‘socialite’, looking amazing and gorgeous but still quite natural” said Jayne. From summer festival to New York party girl, Jayne’s styling for Ruby Smallbone focused on the ‘done’ but ‘undone’ look so popular this season.

A big thanks also to the work of the ghd styling teams that supported the ghd Hair Directors. We’re already looking forward to 2011!
